Satellite TV

I am sure you all must have heard about Direct Satellite TV. It is the new fashion trend to have a Satellite TV nowadays.

You get incredible home entertainment programming in the comfort and privacy of your home. Direct TV programming deals are varied and include packages containing from 50 channels up to over 250 channels. The Direct TV line-up includes the best sports programs available, movies, children's programs, local and national programs, news, weather, and much more. All program selections are delivered in 100% digital quality signaling.

I thought this little background on satellite TV would be helpful. So here I am quoting ... Direct broadcast satellite, (DBS) also known as “Direct-To-Home” is a relatively recent development in the world of television distribution. “Direct broadcast satellite” can either refer to the communications satellites themselves that deliver DBS service or the actual television service. DBS systems are commonly referred to as “mini-dish” systems. DBS uses the upper portion of the Ku band.

DirecTV typically uses a fixed 18-inch diameter dish antenna to receive its signals. These systems are becoming more common as DirecTV attempts to squeeze more programming onto their growing systems. DirecTV (trademarked as "DIRECTV") is a direct broadcast satellite (DBS) service based in El Segundo, California, USA, that transmits digital satellite television and audio to households in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America except for Mexico.
