Friendship is like a violin; the music may stop now and then, but the strings will last forever.

“People never know how special someone is until they leave, but maybe sometimes its important to leave, so they are given that chance to see how special that someone really is!”

“We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can fly only by embracing each other.”

“You’ll always be my best friend, you know too much!”

“When it hurts to look back and your scared to look ahead you can look beside you and your best friend will be there.”

“I guess that it’s you I want to hold on to, but you’re holding onto someone else.”

It takes a minute to have a crush on someone, a hour to like someone, and a day to fall in love with someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

Every time you cross my mind, I think how lucky I’ve been, to have you as my special friend.

“When you have no light to guide you and no one to walk beside you, I will come to you. When the night is dark and stormy, you won’t have to reach out for me, i will come to you.”

Everyone is well aware that Salman Khan paints as one of his hobbies. He has made several paintings over the last few years. However art connoisseurs claim that actor Salman Khan’s painting skills are average and limited to a passionate hobby. Many art experts have implied that Salman’s paintings do not have high commercial value as his painting skills are in a nascent stage. However no one, not even art connoisseurs would have imagined that a painting done by Salman Khan would actually fetch around Rs. One crore.

Sources claim that at first Salman Khan did not want to talk about his painting skills and he had to be coaxed by his family and friends to show his work to others. Over the years Salman has been painting and has gifted many of his friends in the film industry some of his paintings. But a reluctant Salman was recently convinced by Anil Kapoor to auction some of his paintings for a charitable cause. Salman agreed to auction off some of his paintings as he was keen to help several NGO’s involved in charitable work. Salman’s work was being auctioned off by the Plan India charitable NGO; however Salman was not too happy with the amount that one of his paintings was fetching. A particular painting that was close to Salman’s heart was fetching only Rs.20 lakhs which Sallu thought was too paltry a sum for his prized possession. Salman claimed that the particular painting was very precious as it speaks about the emotions between a mother and a son. Hence Salman decided to withdraw that particular painting from the auction. Salman claimed that when he fetched the desired price he would donate the money later to the NGO.

It seems now in hindsight that Salman made a smart move by withdrawing the painting from the auction as he has now fetched around Rs. One crore for that same piece of art. The deal between Salman and the client who bought the painting for around Rs. One crore was done over the phone. However Salman has now decided that the proceeds from this painting will now go to his own personal Salman Khan Foundation which he has recently set up to fund charitable causes. Salman’s father Salim Khan confirms that Salman has sold the painting which he had pulled out from the auction for a good price, he says “I know for sure that the amount has gone to the Salman Khan Foundation and it will benefit the needy that the foundation supports.”

New York-based multimedia company Saavn announced that it has entered into an “innovative” deal with Joost, which provide broadcast quality Internet television service, to make hit Bollywood music and movies more accessible to South Asians. The content of web-based Saavn includes Bollywood and other South Asian film, music, television and sports.

Bollywood, it said, has danced its way into American pop culture over the past year, frequently popping up in American movies, television programmes, and commercials. Joost will serve this rapidly-growing market for Bollywood movies and music by providing programming from Saavn’s vast library. Joost users will be able to watch movies with some of Bollywood’s most famous stars, and many of the popular Bollywood songs.

“The user experience with Joost is far more advanced than with any other company in its arena,” said Vin Bhat, co-founder and general manager of Saavn. “Their approach to video distribution takes full advantage of the nature of the Internet and also provides a secure environment for professionally produced content. This is just the beginning, Bollywood fans around the world will be taking many work breaks once they see how easy and fun this new service is.”

Founded by Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrvm, Joost combines the TV and Internet by offering viewers the experience of sight, sound and motion with the choice, control and flexibility of Web 2.0. Joost said it is the first online, global TV distribution platform, bringing together advertisers, content owners and viewers in an interactive, community-driven environment.

Yvette Alberdingk Thijm, executive vice president, content strategy and acquisition, said, “There is a growing appetite for Bollywood films and music around the world, but until now, there hasn’t been widespread access to great Bollywood programming. As a global distribution platform, Joost is a destination where people connect over their favourite programming, and our partnership with Saavn demonstrates the range and depth of the programming on Joost.”
